Block magnets of ferrite are not only typical industrial magnets but also suitable for science or handicraft. Larger blocks are used in many different ways, for example to support electric motors or as pick-up tools to seperate metallic pieces.
Block magnets of ferrite are all extremely hard and brittle. If not coated with paint they are heat-resistant up to approx. 250°C and non-toxic. The grade of magnetisation of ferrites is signed by a Y. Least grade of magnetisation is 10, the strongest one is numbered 35.
